Birth Doula Availability

Folks hire doulas all the way up to week 40 – I once had a client call on a Saturday, we did an initial “coffee, get-to-know-you” on Sunday, our first prenatal on Tuesday, and the babe was born on Wednesday.  Phew!!

However, hiring earlier in your pregnancy does help ensure that you’ll have more choices when it comes to finding just the right doula for you.  The Doulas of South-Central Wisconsin website is a great starting-point in researching what doulas are practicing in the Madison area.

Sorry to those of you who live out of town – in order to give my clients the best care, given the realities of my life, I only take clients who are giving birth in the Madison area. For those having their babes at home, I’m happy to travel within a 30m radius of Madison.

If you are interested in hiring me, and I am available for clients in the month of your estimated due date (EDD), please fill out the “be in touch” form above and we can schedule a coffee/tea “date” to see if we might be a good fit.

I am proud to work with a number of insanely talented doulas in the Madison area – Tammy Soderling (who is trained and phenomenal at supporting families interested in Hypnobirthing and other deep relaxation coping strategies), Hannah Bernard-Donals (who is currently training to be a certified professional midwife), Kate Block (who is a massage therapist as well as a doula) and Heather Bernhard (a past client I am SO excited to be working with).

(The story on the photo above: that is one of my best friends, attended by her sister, her sister-in-law/good friend, the sister-in-law’s mama, and myself – all of us doula-ing her (and each other) through her first birth. Having lots of people at your birth is a very personal and important decision, but when it works, all the hands sure are wonderful!)
